One thing about aging to senior citzenhood is that I suffer fools less and less graciously. I want to keep working for causes that matter to me, but find fellow workers who require ego-balm less and less easily assauged. I wish I'd learned many years ago how to work around such persons. Or perhaps I simply had more energy then to keep working despite the drain they cause.

I mouth the words
You shake your head -- frustration renwed
When I cannot understand
I fail you again
guessing wrong
staying away when you need me near
